San Benito Masonic Lodge No. 211, Free and Accepted Masons, continued its public school bike program in March by presenting a bicycle to Jonathan Castillo-Lenares, a sixth-grader at Ladd Lane School.

The San Benito County Safe Kids Coalition gave Jonathan a helmet to go with his new bike.

It was the fourth bicycle given by the Masonic Lodge to a deserving student. The lodge started the program to show support for public schools and their students. It is a joint effort between the lodge, the Hollister School District and Muenzer’s Cyclery. Students in grades 4-8 who have a ‘C’ average, perfect attendance and are not “problem” children are eligible.

The Masonic Lodge raises funds through donations and special projects.
