The Free Wheelers had a demonstration area at the rally.

The Hollister Free Wheelers had an impressive performance at the Presidents Cup tournament held in Phoenix.
They showed off some of their hardware and some of their moves for a demonstration area at the Hollister Rally held July 5 and 6. They recently had returned from their second-place finish at the Arizona tournament put on by the U.S. Power Soccer Association in late June.
There were eight teams competing in the tournament. The Hollister team beat a Berkeley team 4-3 in the semifinals but lost to a very tough Indianapolis team 4-0 in the final.
“They were beating other teams like 8 to 10 to nothing,” said Don Jones, head coach of the Free Wheelers.
Michele Rosado, a forward and goalie, was at the demonstration area Saturday and noted how the second-place finish moved the Free Wheelers up a conference.
Rosado clearly enjoys the sport.
“I like the competition,” she said. “And I like meeting other people and just sharing stories with them and watching people play.”
At the demonstration, the team was showing people some of the fundamentals of power soccer and providing information on the team, while also doing some fundraising, Jones said.
He pointed out that the Free Wheelers have been around for 16 years.
“Here, what we’re doing is showing people what power soccer is, giving some community awareness of what power soccer is,” the coach said. “It’s a sport played with power wheelchairs, and all people are required to use a power wheelchair. “
