The victim in Monday’s fatal motorcycle accident on Highway 101 has been identified as Joseph Porter, 36, of Hollister.

The accident happened shortly before 4 p.m. Monday. Porter had been southbound on a 2016 Yamaha and struck a 2007 Ford driven by a 50-year-old San Juan Bautista woman. The CHP reported that traffic had been “stop and go” at about 15 mph, and the CHP was unsure why the motorcycle hit the other vehicle.

A Go Fund Me account online notes how Porter was a father of five survived by four children.
