Dear Editor,
Silicon Valley Manufacturing Groups Carl Guardino complains because house prices in the Bay Area are so unaffordable, yet SVMG backed Valley Transportation Authority socialist public transit boondoggles like Lite Rail from the get go.
Does it really surprise gurus at SVMG that VTA’s Marxist-Leninist philosophy has jacked-up house prices, when “traffic impact fees” and taxes/fees of every conceivable description are heaped on the backs of taxpayers? Surprise, surprise! As Founding Father James Madison said in The Federalist Papers, “A bad cause seldom fails to betray itself.”
Our local leaders engineered our current condition by their unquestioning acceptance of SVMG strategies. I think it’s time to re-evaluate our leaders’ blind acceptance of ruinous transport policy before we adopt SVMG’s current push to repeal Proposition 13. Without raising taxes or cutting services, privatization of transport would give future generations a fighting chance at survival in the “global marketplace.”
