The Anthony Freitas letter of Dec. 2 was a good one and does
make sense. Even if this route was not Highway 156 something soon
has to be done to improve safety and relieve congestion.
A four-lane expressway would be the most cost effective, would
impact less farm land and could be completed much sooner.

Ultimately, the whole Highway 156/152 issue should be treated as a combined issue by planners that would take traffic from Pacheco Pass directly to U.S. 101 by the most direct route, somewhere south of Gilroy and north of (not through) San Juan Bautista.

The Shore Road/Highway 25 corridor comes to mind.
