The Autism Parent Club of San Benito County will host a meeting from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Pritchett’s Living Services, 800-F San Benito St., in Hollister.
The meeting is open to any parents with children with special needs, including autism and other disabilities, who would like to share information or get information from other parents.
The meeting on Thursday will include a workshop that will discuss nutrition and healthy living by Juice Plus+ Whole Food Nutrition promoter Michele Reese.
Reese has been devoted to the study and application of healthy living habits since 1984. She has a bachelor of science in Natural Healing and Holistic Nutrition. She is a health educator who has completed graduate studies in traditional Chinese medicine and clinical psychology. She will talk about an hour, with a half hour question and answer period to follow.
Her presentation will touch on the following subjects: lowering inflammation markers in the body; strengthening the immune system; enzymes, digestion and autism; detoxifying – ridding yourself of cravings for sugar and transfats; why eating seven to 13 servings of fresh, raw fruits and vegetables is critical to good health; and how Juice Plus+ can add more fruits and vegetables into one’s diet.
Light refreshments will be served.
The Autism Parent Club of San Benito County is part of Parents Helping Parents, Inc. The meetings are open to the public, with a $5 fee charged to nonmembers.
