For this year’s reenactment, Confederate soldiers took over a Union town. The people that put on the reenactment are docents, and focus on living history by playing different characters on the battlefield and in the town. Thompson said the Tres Pinos event is unique compared with other Civil War Days events because of the historical buildings that allow for many more scenarios. Visitors can see a boarding house, an old-time saloon and more.
Docents played the part of school teachers, a blacksmith, townspeople as well as Union or Confederate soldiers.
