disaster assistance: Small businesses are eligible to apply for low interest disaster loans to offset economic losses because of reduced revenue to farmers and ranchers caused by excessive rain and wheat stripe rust in 10 California counties. Small businesses may apply for economic losses that are attributable to the following incident dates: San Benito County from April 1-May31, 2003. The deadline to apply is June 23, 2004. COG MEETINGS: The Council of San Benito County Governments has scheduled two public hearing to discuss transit needs within San Benito County and the community is encouraged to attend. The first meeting will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17 at the Hollister Community Center, 300 West St. An evening meeting will take place Thursday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. at the San Benito County Board of Supervisors Chambers, 481 Fourth St.

YMCA EVENTS: YMCA programs for 2004.

YMCA Holiday Camps: Sweetheart Camp – Feb. 16 to 20; Spring Camp – April 5-9 at the Sunnyslope site from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Candidates Forum: The Candidates and Issues Forum will be Thursday, Feb. 19 from 7-9 p.m. at the City Council Chambers. The forum is presented to provide an impartial venue for exposure to important issues and to meet the candidates who are running for public office March 2.
