ANIMALS IN NEED: The Hollister Animal Shelter is looking for a few good volunteers. Work Permits: Pursuant to California Labor Code Mandates, students between the ages of 12 and 18 years of age who plan to work this summer must have a “Permit to Employ and Work” on file with the employer during the term of their employment. Students must apply for these permits at the school they attend. Students under the age of 14 are only allowed to work in agriculture-related or entertainment field. Rural students may obtain work permits through their school principal. Employers without work permits for student employees face potential fines of $100 to $500. Moving Wall: The Hollister Independence Rally Committee and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Hollister Post 9242 is announcing the Moving Wall exhibit to be on display at the old Fremont School from June 30 to July 5. The memorial will be open around the clock. HIRC and the VFW are looking for volunteers to help setup the event and the manning of the memorial around the clock. Diabetes series: Hazel Hawkins Community Health Clinic in San Juan Bautista is offering a free community education series on diabetes.
