Hollister Paint has experienced an uptick in business.

While Hollister’s housing sales market has remained relatively strong, one local business that reflects the home remodeling sector has experienced a major uptick in demand over the past three months.
Hollister Paint, located at 57 East St., has customers so eager for paint jobs that they’re willing to wait two months for the work, said owner Judy Goularte. She said the business does do new homes going up in Gilroy and Morgan Hill, but mostly remodels here.
“It’s mostly people that are living in their homes and they’re trying to spruce it up and make it more comfortable for them,” Goularte said. “It seems the economy is turning around and people are spending money on the extra frills they could not afford before. This is what we’re seeing – a lot of people. They are actually willing to wait.”
Goularte said Hollister Paint has been “very fortunate” this year, enough so that the business increased from four to 16 painters in the past three months.
