Eat in the fresh air
Knife and Fork Cafe customers will have a chance to enjoy their
meals under the sun in the coming weeks now that the restaurant has
agreed to a lease deal with the City of Hollister to use a portion
of Brown’s Alley for outdoor dining. Council members at the April
20 meeting agreed to a lease calling for rent of $99 per month. The
city previously had approved a similar lease agreement with Main
Street Bistro to use that alley when that restaurant operated at
the same location. The restaurant at 650 San Benito St. intends to
use 900 square feet of space in the alley, a portion of which has
been blocked off from vehicle traffic since 1998. Robert and Sheila
Stevens opened Knife and Fork Cafe in June 2008.
