Ray and Peggy Pierce of Intero Real Estate Services in Hollister
have earned the prestigious Certified Distressed Property Expert
designation from the Distressed Property Institute.
They completed extensive training in foreclosure avoidance and
short sales. Short sales allow a cash-strapped seller to repay the
mortgage at the price that the home sells for, even though it’s
lower than what’s owed. It’s a practice more and more lenders are
considering.

A press statement on their achievement notes how there are more than 615 homes in San Benito County in danger of foreclosing, and in all price ranges.
“The CDPE designation has been invaluable as I work with sellers and lenders on complicated short sales,” Ray Pierce said in the press release.
The Distressed Property Institute in Florida opened in January 2008 and provides training on site and online.
