doors Monday and is set for a grand opening celebration Friday and
Saturday.

The Market & The Butcher Shop has opened in downtown Hollister at the corner of San Benito and South streets. The business opened its doors Monday and is set for a grand opening celebration Friday and Saturday.
Co-owner Carla Thorning noted that from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday they will have Pietra Santa wine and Marich Confectionery samples, while from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday they’ll offer more free samples.
She said the business emphasizes fresh food and local products. It includes such options as fresh fish, a meat case, an on-site butcher and sausages made in the shop. She wants to also support other local businesses, and showcases them on displays. The store includes many staples such as fresh fruit and vegetables, milk and bread delivered daily. There is a wide variety of beer and wine.
The business also plans to offer a special lunch menu and host wine-tasting events. The butcher shop, meanwhile, offers services such as cutting locals’ meat for them.
It is open 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. The number is 636-MRKT (6758).
