Blak Sage opens exhibit

The Blak Sage Gallery will be exhibiting the artwork with local artists who have supported the gallery with their time or talent. The exhibit is open through Nov. 16. ‘The Legend of Sleepy Hollow’

The Monterey Peninsula College Storybook Theatre presents “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” Nov. 5-21, at the Monterey Peninsula College Campus, in Monterey. The show tells the tale of Ichabod Crane and the headless horseman, set in the 1790 Dutch settlement of Tarry Town. Evening performances start at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with matinees at 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. There will be a preview show Nov. 4, at 7 p.m. and guests have the option of a pizza meal for $3 on the opening night performance, Nov. 5. Tickets are $9-15. The Rancho/Maze band will host a craft boutique at the Rancho San Justo Middle School gym, Nov. 6, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Vendors will include direct sale and craft items. There will also be raffle prizes. All proceeds benefit the band.

Women’s Annual Harvest Bazaar

The Hollister United Methodist Women’s Annual Harvest Bazaar will be Nov. 6, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall at the United Methodist Church, at Fifth and Monterey streets. Come and buy homemade gift items, plants, seasonal decorations, baked goods and jams, salsa and pickles. There will be a drawing and door prizes, as well as complimentary refreshments will be served.

Lights On Celebration

The Hollister Downtown Association presents the 20th Annual Light On Celebration in downtown Hollister, Nov. 27, from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This free event begins at 5 p.m. with a Merchants’ Open Houses, roaming carolers, costumed characters and other live entertainment. The parade of lights starts at 5:30 p.m., with more than 60 entries including Jaime the Elf and Santa and Mrs. Claus. Sock Monkeys in the Wild

Shannon Grissom will host the exhibit “Sock Monkeys in the Wild,” at the Blak Sage Gallery, 727 San Benito St., featuring 40 sock monkey paintings. Santa will be on site to meet with children and take pictures. A Holiday Merchants Open House will take place during the event, which is sponsored by the Rotary Club of San Juan Bautista.
