The Community Foundation for San Benito County announced its Endowment Match Challenge. A donor has provided $150,000 in order to help build endowment funds and create a lasting legacy in the community.
Participating nonprofits will receive a 1:1 matching grant from the Community Foundation for each $1 they raise for their endowment fund during this program.
If the nonprofit would like to open a new fund, a minimum of $5,000 is needed, as it takes $10,000 to start an endowment.
The nonprofit Endowment Match Challenge is open to all nonprofit organizations who serve San Benito County. Any amount donated to the organization’s endowment fund, up to $150,000, will automatically be doubled. The nonprofit could instantly have a great start to an endowment fund to help the organization in perpetuity.
The purpose of this program is to inspire and challenge the nonprofit sector of our community to begin strengthening itself through endowment building. Permanent endowments are important goals for the long-term sustainability of nonprofit organizations.
The perpetual revenue stream generated from endowments will help insure the financial viability of these nonprofits forever.
The Endowment Match Challenge opened April 1 and runs until the total match has been awarded ($150,000 in total). Grants will be awarded on a first come, first served basis.
