Hollister council members Monday tabled consideration of an extension on the motorcycle rally contract until two new council members take the oath of office next week.
Council members debated a proposed extension to the contract with the Hollister Downtown Association to manage the 2015 and 2016 motorcycle rallies.
The estimate for the city’s costs is at $149,000 for the 2015 event, to be held over the July 4 weekend. As part of the proposal for the 2015 rally, the event would go back to two days after one year at three days in 2014.
Council members heard from business owners and the HDA president before putting off the consideration. There were some complaints about a lacking marketing plan from the HDA-hired promoter, Worldwide Dynamics.
Council members agreed to wait until new council members, Mickie Solorio Luna and Karson Klauer, are sworn in.
