City Hall

Hollister City Council members Monday are weighing whether to adjust the rules for collection of impact fees for two projects upon request from those developers.
Council members are set to meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Hollister City Hall, 375 Fifth St.
Developers of the Vista Del Oro mixed-use project at 1480 San Juan Road – it includes 96 condominium units and 30,000 square feet of commercial space – are asking to defer related impact fees until later dates than those required by the city.
The developer, Saroyan Masterbuilder, expects those impact fees to eclipse $3 million. The request is to have the residential fees collected at the time of escrow on individual units as opposed to before the building department’s final inspection. For the retail component, the builder wants to have fees collected when the space is leased.
Developers of the Fairfield Inn & Suites project on Gateway Drive are asking the city to finance more than $600,000 in impact fees connected to that development, according to a council agenda report on the items.
City staff members are recommending that council members approve collecting Vista Del Oro fees at the time of escrow or occupancy, and to put together a loan agreement on the Fairfield Inn project.
