The restaurant is shown Monday with the sign on the door. Before Dickey's opened in August 2013, Dreamy Buffet had been at the site.

Hollister’s Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, a franchise restaurant that opened in 2013, recently closed for good and attributed the decision to rising commodity costs caused by drought conditions.
A local couple opened Dickey’s Barbecue Pit – a fast-casual, chain restaurant – at 551 McCray St. in August 2013. Dickey’s is a Texas-based chain that focuses its menu on barbecue sandwiches, barbecue plates and other barbecue-style foods.
A sign on the entrance to the location notes how Dickey’s has closed. The note attributes the closure to “the unpredictable drought causing increases to meat & produce.”
Drought conditions in recent years, including those in California, have caused a spike in commodity costs for such restaurants along with prices for consumers at grocery stores.
Look back for more.
