A dead body is discovered at a potluck lunch, turning out to be of the Grand Marshal of the Founder’s Day parade. Sounds like a small-town’s headline story, but this drama is only set for the stage.
Non-stop hilarity ensues in Inspire Performing Arts Academy’s Teen Dinner Theater Murder Mystery, An Inconvenient Corpse, running at Paine’s Restaurant, 421 East St. in Hollister on Feb. 15 and 16.
“This show is really popular,” says co-producer Tristan Clayson. “We’ve opened up ticket sales and the first show is sold out already.”
Directed by Sally Hail and co-produced by Tristan and Rachel Clayson, the play features a cast of teenagers and young adults, ranging from 13 years old to 23 years old. The ensemble cast has been in rehearsals since early January.
Tristan says the show is sure to be a hit will all audiences. “The primary selling point of this show is it is a nice relaxed time,” Tristan says. “For that first date there is enough to distract while still getting to know the person; for families, it is a fun time to eat and enjoy a show together.
Evening shows will begin with dinner at 6:30pm and the show beginning at 7pm. On the Feb. 16, a matinee show, lunch will begin at 1:30, with the show beginning at 2pm.
