Editor,
I’m writing to address the story about high school students getting e-mail accounts at school. I personally don’t have any problem with the school letting students have an account, but I don’t think that they should go through the trouble of setting up accounts for them. First of all, most high school students have e-mail accounts already so the school shouldn’t have to set up accounts. I think the school should just let the students use their own accounts.
If people would start paying attention to what their kids are doing and hold the right people responsible for any problems, then the school wouldn’t have to worry about any problems with the Internet access for students.
Another thing that bothers me with the accounts is that the school might need to hire more people to get the job done. Again, it’s not worth what they’re going through. The school should just stop blocking student access to some sites and anything bad that comes out of it isn’t the school’s responsibility, it’s the students’.
