Banking on last year’s success, Emmaus House is doing another Food & Wine event.  It will once again be held at San Juan Oaks Golf and Country Club on Oct. 14, beginning at 3 p.m.

Last year’s event raised over $ 16,000 for the women’s shelter.  There were numerous auction items that were donated to help in the cause.  The group  will be looking for donors this year as well as diners.

The cost is $ 125 per person.  There will be appetizers and wine served as guests assemble, to be followed by a five-course sit-down dinner paired with local wines, prepared by locally raised chefs.

Winery’s donating products and commentary this year are: Alicats, Calera, Donati, Jayse, Pessagno, and Teague.

Chefs and restaurants participating will be: Ella King, owner of Ella’s Café; Doug Kuerschner III from  Carmel Valley Ranch & Country Club; Danny Mendoza Mauricios of Knife & Fork; Carlos Ruiz, Heavenly Bakery; Sean Shelton Peppoli, The Inn at Spanish Bay; and Rob Stevens, the Inn at Tres Pinos.

Tickets are available at Post Graphics and Shelton Insurance.  Seating is limited.

Emmaus House has served over 775 women and children since opening in October 2006.
