151676~Every moment in life is valuable—No matter what side
you come out on the Terri Shiavo case, I think we can all agree how
tragic it is that these issues and controversies have finally come
to a head in America in such an unusual and unfortunate
circumstance.
Dear Editor,
I “have to” agree with David Rivas of Gilroy. Your life is very valuable. My grandfather, the late Rev. John Hopcroft, used to quote John 3:16 as his most favorite verse in the entire bible. It reads, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not parish, but have everlasting life.
We, earthly beings, are not the only ones to have the attitude of life being valuable. Eternal Life is ours if only we take a small moment in time to invite the Almighty into our earthly lives. It’s that simple. My grandfather would refer you to the pastoral staff at Sunnyslope Christian Center if you have any questions about Eternal Life, and setting aside the small moment in time.
I am pondering a few thoughts. I want to believe that Terri Schiavo had time to ask the Almighty into her life. I want to believe that she is in His presence. I want to believe that for the rest of eternity, Terri’ main focus is to worship Him. I want to imagine what it was like for Terri to see Him face to face.
In light of David Rivas’ article and these thoughts to ponder, I am thankful that I have taken that brief moment to invite the Almighty into my life. I invite you to not only ponder, but I invite you to make a call to your local church and talk with a member of the pastoral staff about Eternal Life.
