A vital 200 year constitutional safeguard is under attack. Betraying the wisdom of our founding fathers, a hostile Senate majority is threatening to ban our democratic filibuster, permanently silencing opposition to nominees for lifetime positions in our federal court system, including the Supreme Court.
A filibuster makes it possible for a concerned Senate minority to block nominations of partisan individuals who work for private corporations known for shredding environmental laws, workers rights, and other civil liberties such as privacy.
What will happen if the judicial system is controlled by one political party? If our federal courts are controlled by fanatical puppet judges who manipulate regulations on behalf of oil, nuclear, logging, mining, industrial waste and pharmaceutical giants?
The dogma which seeks to overthrow our independent judiciary and control our Supreme Court will eliminate a woman’s right to choose, open National Parks to oil and timber companies and legalize the perverse behavior of patriotic coercion which allows the military to stalk and seduce our children into war.
Protect your minority voice and inalienable rights, please call your Senator and object to a ban on filibuster.
