I am writing this letter to clear a point about a letter I
wrote, dated April 28, regarding the Fairview and Sunnyslope
intersection. On April 18, at 3:50pm, my wife and I were stopped on
Sunnyslope waiting to turn right onto Fairview. The accident
happened right in front of our eyes. One person was killed, it
wasn’t pleasant. We still can’t forget.
Dear Editor,
I am writing this letter to clear a point about a letter I wrote, dated April 28, regarding the Fairview and Sunnyslope intersection. On April 18, at 3:50pm, my wife and I were stopped on Sunnyslope waiting to turn right onto Fairview. The accident happened right in front of our eyes. One person was killed, it wasn’t pleasant. We still can’t forget.
Since then, there have been two more accidents that we know of at this intersection. In one of the accidents, three people were injured. Luckily no one was killed. According to the article that I read in the Hollister Free Lance, the people involved stated that they got blinded just like what happened in the accident that I saw.
With all my years of experience of working on the county roads, I see big problems at this particular intersection. Two gallons of paint and a few cones would make this intersection much safer until the county could come up with a solution. Nothing has been done so far. If I’m right, four people have been killed and many got hurt.
The person who inherited this responsible job to make decisions seems to care less how many people got killed or hurt. In my opinion, he is not qualified to make decisions. I feel that in the long run, it is going to cost the county a fortune to straighten this mess out. You can go so far with blah-blah-blah-blah. God knows we need a change. I hope for the best!
Poor taxpayers are taking all of this without saying a word. I am sure we never got to port with this type of government.
If I could write my letters in the way people could read them, I would find causes and enjoy writing one each week. It would be a pleasure to inform the people of the county of things they probably do not know about.
I have no respect for dysfunctional leaders. Sorry folks, this is just my opinion!
