For the last 22 years, Bolado Park has been taken over for one week out of the summer by the Cub Scouts of San Benito County. The Scouts get a chance to learn, create and make new friends at the Fort Benito Cub Scout Day Camp. For five full days the nearly 150 young Cub Scouts roamed the grounds, they had opportunities to learn things from how to tie a knot to first-aid skills. They also participated in skits practicing their acting skills and learned about nature on hikes.

With it’s 22-year run many of the Boy Scouts who were once Cub Scouts come back to camp as volunteers to help encourage younger kids to be better Souts. The mentors show them tips and tricks that they have picked up along the way.

With so many kids benefiting from the week-long adventure to Fort Benito, they will take skills home with them that can be used for a lifetime.
