Michael Saifullah gets a shot to the arm at the San Benito County Public Health flu clinic Thursday at the Veterans Memorial Building.

The San Benito County Public Health Department hosted its annual free flu clinic at the Veterans Memorial Building on Thursday.
The event was from 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. This year, organizers administered 1,116 doses of the flu vaccine, compared to 1,067 in 2013, said agency spokeswoman Samela Perez.
The county’s health department received 2,200 doses this year and has a goal of getting the remaining doses to the public, she said.
“We’re just happy that we were able to vaccinate 1,116 people in spite of the rain,” Perez said.
