The Gavilan Kennel Club that includes members in San Benito County is holding its annual American Kennel Club-sanctioned dog show this Friday through Sunday at Bolado Park.

The Obedience Trial and Rally is Friday beginning at 9 a.m. Conformation events – the American Kennel Club’s principal competitions – are Saturday and Sunday starting at 8 a.m.

On Saturday, the Best in Show trophy will be awarded by Supervisor Jaime De La Cruz, the board chairman. Deputy Dix, the sheriff’s office K-9 who the club has supported with equipment and funding over the past several years, will also be there, according to the group’s press release. Deputy Matt Soto is his handler.

Undersheriff Pat Turturicci and Sheriff Curtis Hill also will be in attendance. There is a parking fee, but the show is free.
