celebration on Oct. 15.
The GeoZeum community education center opened last weekend in downtown San Juan Bautista and will hold a grand opening celebration on Oct. 15.
Designed as a community education center dedicated to earth science and disaster preparedness, the 1,200-square-foot facility allows visitors to look at and learn about rocks, fossils, fluorescent materials and maps. It features hands-on displays that illustrate the regional geology and landscape features in the San Benito County region. The GeoZeum is open to the public Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Monday through Wednesday by appointment.
