Brian and Marylyn Lindberg, owners of Lindberg Enterprises, are excited about the challenges associated with their new business – which actually consists of three types of businesses.

“The first deals with Internet Web sites. We help set up merchant accounts so businesses can take credit cards and do transactions over the Internet,” Brian Lindberg said. “There’s quite a bit involved in setting up one of these accounts.”

With a merchant account, a business can take credit card payments over the Internet.

“It’s not easy for businesses to set up a merchant account, especially small businesses,” Lindberg said. “Most people don’t have a clue as to all the things it will take to have a bank and set up with Web site software.”

Lindbergh knows how hard shopping for a personal computer can be, so the second aspect of Lindberg Enterprises is computer sales and support.

“At one time when people were buying a computer, I used to provide everything for the customer. Now it’s better if I show the customer what’s available on the Web site,” he said. “I can help them buy it and set it up. I let other companies provide hardware and software. When it comes to purchasing a computer, most people find too many variables. I help them through that.”

The Lindbergs say they’ve already contacted several hundred people in the third aspect of their business – multi-level marketing.

“Marylyn continues to add people to the program. These people come on board and have someone who helps them set up their own business,” Lindberg said. “The multi-level marketing portion of the business is one of the things I’m most excited about.”

The Lindbergs didn’t get into multi-level marketing on their own, but purchased computer software that teaches them about it. It’s a concept that’s made to be shared.

“For many people, the idea of starting their own business is a ‘no.’ If they’re interested in hearing about our program, they might switch that ‘no’ from an ‘I can’t do that’ to a ‘Maybe I can,'” Lindberg said. “You’re not doing this alone; people will walk with you step by step. We can help them help themselves. I can be a consultant. Plus, we set them up with a five-day-a-week, 12-hour-a-day hotline.”

In addition to these business ventures, Lindberg Enterprises is in the process of setting up three commercial Web sites.

“We’ll initially be marketing three Web sites,” Lindberg said. “These include personal computers, Disney-licensed products and jewelry, and backyard patio furniture. The backyard furniture Web site will include everything from outdoor sporting equipment such as volleyball sets, to barbecue grills.”

According to Lindberg, they have access to companies willing to drop-ship their products. Simply put, Lindberg Enterprises groups and compiles products then designs a Web site for these product groups. This helps shoppers locate a variety of items without spending hours on the Internet. Once a customer has placed and paid for an order, Lindberg Enterprises divides the orders by their individual manufacturers, places these orders and has them shipped direct to the customer.

“I also provide web hosting,” Lindberg said. “Once you develop a Web site, there is a fee for putting your business on the Web. I can help people establish their Web sites.”

Carolyn Grover, who recently joined the team as a graphic illustrator for Web sites, is helping Lindberg Enterprises build these first three sites. Plans are already in place to build other sites once the first three are up and running.
