Editor,

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month and we at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals encourage everyone to switch to a healthy, humane vegetarian diet to help prevent cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

A recent study from the American Cancer Society indicated, once again, that the consumption of meat is likely to cause colon cancer. A 1999 Harvard Report on Cancer Prevention also found “considerable evidence that a high intake of red meat increases risk of colon cancer among both men and women,” and a study by the European Prospective Investigation of Cancer and Nutrition showed a link between animal products and colorectal cancer.

Please visit GoVeg.com for more information and a free vegetarian starter kit. You’ll not only help save your own life, but countless animal lives as well.
