Where to find it: Some ecards – www.someecards.com
Who runs the site: Brook Lundy and Duncan Mitchell created the site, and list themselves respectively as president, head writer, unpaid intern and CEO, art director and something that is unprintable in the paper.
Who is likely to use the site: The site is meant to be used by those 18 and over, and it is likely to be used by 20-somethings everywhere who went to send a little biting humor to their friends, and avoid annoying animated, musical e-cards found on other sites.
Pros: As with most e-card sites (that stands for electronic cards, for those who don’t know), the site lists many categories that make it easy to search for just the right card for any friend, family member or foe. But unlike typical e-card sites such as Blue Mountain and Hallmark.com, this site has categories that are a bit more off the beaten path such as “courtesy hello” and “break up.” The cards feature funny drawings that look like they are Victorian or 50s era, but the comments are clearly modern day.
The cards all have a very sarcastic and biting tone, so they are probably best not sent to sensitive people or those easily offend. Users can send cards for free, and subscribe to a free newsletter that tells about new cards, categories and other site features as they are added. The site also has a Facebook interface so users can send cards via e-mail or through the social network.
Cons: The drawings don’t always make sense with the text of the cards, and these are definitely not feel-good Hallmark cards so send with caution.
