Despite carding a 210 on Thursday at the Quail Lodge Resort and Golf Club, the San Benito Haybalers finished several strokes behind powerhouse Carmel, which recorded a 189 behind a medalist of 36.

Baler Will Cross led San Benito with a 2-over 37 on the front nine at Quail Lodge, located in Carmel. Teammate Nathan Winn followed with a 38.

Taylor Weatherly shot a 42 and Dalton Destefanis contributed a 43, while Jade Kimura rounded out the team with a 50.

Jacob DeLeon, meanwhile, carded a 58 in the dual meet.

San Benito will compete in its second TCAL Tournament on Monday at the Salinas Golf and Country Club. Tee time is 2:30 p.m.
