Local leaders proclaim support for economic development, but what do they do? Just the opposite.

A small business owner confronts the following in SBC:

Double standard-one for local government; one for business (COG’s illegal accounting vs. business and tax law requirements that all business use generally accepted accounting principles);

Local government competing with business (COG’s monopoly);

Local government competing illegally, violating the Unfair Business Practice Act by pricing services below cost (COG);

Local government taxation without representation (three County Districts unrepresented by COG Directors, but imposing ever-increasing tax/fee burdens);

Local government leaders surrendering their mandate from voters (COG’s Directors surrendering the taxation power to those who are not elected, for which conduct the Grand Jury in our neighboring county has indicted COG’s equivalent there, i.e., VTA);

Fiscal irresponsibility, taxpayer abuse, and abdication of voter’s trust mandate (we folks who voted them into office and who pony up the taxes/fees/assessments to fund their spending).

We judge them by their actions, not their words, and the result is nothing less than catastrophic for small business owners, bankrupted by the leaders that we elected to govern us.
