Second Harvest Food Bank of San Benito and Santa Cruz counties will hold a second kick-off – this time in Hollister – for its annual Barrel Roll-Out food drive for the holidays.

Representatives of the food bank and Community Pantry in Hollister will answer questions about the food drive at a luncheon Tuesday, Nov. 12 from 12:30-2 p.m. at San Benito Land Title, 260 Tres Pinos Road.

Second Harvest officially began the Barrel Roll-Out at a luncheon Thursday in Santa Cruz.

The goal for this year’s food drive is to collect 920,000 pounds of food for children, seniors, the disabled and working poor families. Volunteers began transporting 800 barrels this morning from Watsonville to collection sites in the area.

To RSVP for Tuesday’s luncheon, call (831) 722-7110, ext. 217, or e-mail [email protected].
