Hollister School District trustees took steps toward pursuing a second general obligation facilities bond during a board meeting last week.
The board unanimously approved spending $24,000 in developer fees to conduct a telephone and online poll to evaluate voters’ support for a second bond measure in 2016.
The district previously worked with EMC Research to determine the level of support it might have if they placed a bond measure on the ballot.
Voters last November passed Measure M—a $28.5 million general obligation facilities bond—to fix the district’s leaky roofs, upgrade classrooms and improve campus security. Projects are under way with those funds.
The poll to determine support for a second bond would probably be conducted in January 2016, with results coming to the board the following month, according to background information on the meeting agenda.
