Hollister officials Monday reported that the city was $861,000 in the black for fiscal year 2013-14.
City Finance Director Brett Miller presented the year-end budget numbers for the city, boosted largely by an improving retail sector, to council members at their meeting Monday.
With the nearly $900,000 budget surplus, the city’s rainy-day reserve was at $4.2 million, Miller said.
A good portion of that revenue comes from the 1 percent Measure E sales tax, which generated more than $4 million this past fiscal year.
Look back for more.
