Hollister is where pleasure knows its price
You get more bang for your buck in Hollister and here in
Hollywood than you do in Washington or New York. $4,500 for a
hooker? Governor Feelgood is a graduate of Harvard? Hell, I barely
graduated from Hollister High and I remember the lady who gave

dance

lessons for $2 an hour or a case of Burgie whose specialty was
the horizontal tango
… and she even gave you milk and cookies afterwards.

You get more bang for your buck in Hollister and here in Hollywood than you do in Washington or New York. $4,500 for a hooker? Governor Feelgood is a graduate of Harvard? Hell, I barely graduated from Hollister High and I remember the lady who gave “dance” lessons for $2 an hour or a case of Burgie whose specialty was the horizontal tango … and she even gave you milk and cookies afterwards. Hope you are bringing up your daughters to believe that there is no prophet in sin. What? The whore just got offered $1 million to do a spread in “Hustler.” Aye chee waa waa.

Got a kick out of Queen Latifah being interviewed saying that when she goes on location she likes to mix with the locals by going to the local gyms and hitting Fatburgers. I think she has hit Fatburgers more than the gym. In her defense though when I saw her on Hollywood Boulevard last year she looked smokin’. Full bodied to be sure but my, isn’t that so much sexier than those models who look like the Olsen twins’ skinnier sister?

Obama is in trouble for what his minister said and rightfully so as he should have distanced himself from him years ago. I remember back in the 1960s in Hollister my minister in the Methodist Church from the pulpit told us not to vote for Barry Goldwater. After the service I told him I thought that that kind of politics was inappropriate. He so much as told me it was his flock and if I didn’t like it I could take a flying flock. I did.

Speaking of taking a flying flock, that new movie coming out today, “Run Fatboy Run” is not my autobiography. Run? The last time I ran was my last night in Hollister six years ago when, toward the end of happy hour at Johnny’s Bar and Grill, Charisse the owner yells, “Last piece of pizza.” The four guys who were in front of me are still in Hazel Hawkins Hospital.

If you’re new to Hollister and you think national politics are dirty you ain’t seen nothing yet. He throws out an innuendo knowing voters will take it the wrong way and hopes it will destroy one of Hollister’s great all-time former office holders and nice guys. As usual though the dirty strings are being pulled by someone much bigger than him.

Having been born and raised in San Benito County I have seen enough rodeo and branding news photos to last me until my last roundup. So I thought. Then Pinnacle staffer Sarah Regnier lassos me back with those great photos at the Jeff Bourdet annual cattle branding and barbecue. Absolutely breathtaking. Loved the names of the kids in the cowboy garb in one of the photos. Their names were great strong names, very cowboy: Tucker Bourdet, Cole Wilson and Caleb Wilson sound like part of the James Gang. Here in Hollywood we name our kids Apple, Pearis and Kumquat, and that’s just the boys.

I can’t recommend “10,000 B.C.” unless you want to relive your youth. Big bag of popcorn with extra butter dripping down the side of the box and a small diet drink at the giant Grauman’s Chinese Theater on Hollywood Boulevard with more speakers than a Senate filibuster on why they need a pay increase and I was 13 again. Even copped a feel but in a senior moment I forgot that Nancy was sitting to my left, not my right. In typical Hollywood manner the guy didn’t seem to mind. Aye chee waa waa. Kumquat?

Love those local leaders who want to ban payday advance businesses because according to them and those who pay them to say it the payday advance businesses are like vultures preying on the consumer with high interest. Have they looked at the interest on their so-called “legitimate” bank credit cards? The legitimate banks are the real vultures. Aye chee waa waa.

Don’t like to mess with the ad department but there is a great ad running in the Pinnacle for M&M hair salon with a beautiful picture of owner Martha Mendez. With a little shuffling around I bet her picture could and should be displayed a little bigger. Just beautiful.

Also love that ad from lawyer Elvira Zaragoza. I’m Back. I don’t know where she has been but when I was living in Hollister she was one of the most respected lawyers. More importantly, since the day I met her I have never been in jail or prison. Thank you, Elvira.

Loved that headline in the Pinnacle, “Now is a great time to give it away.” Unfortunately, the story had nothing to do with what I was thinking.
