Behind a game-high 20 points from Niko Hebert, the Anzar Hawks shutout visiting Georgiana Bruce Kirby in the first quarter and marched to a comfortable 70-20 victory Friday night in San Juan Bautista.

Alex Valles had 17 points, Mark Rania added 12 points and Nick Salgado contributed 10 points for the Hawks. Anzar, which narrowly lost to Pacific Collegiate in its previous matchup, improves to 2-1 in the Coastal Athletic League and 4-13 overall.

Anzar led 18-0 after the first eight minutes of play, and carried a 34-5 lead to halftime over Kirby. Ethan Kopit led the Santa Cruz school with nine points, while teammate Zack Zuniga added eight.

The Hawks will visit Anchorpoint Christian Tuesday night in Gilroy. Tip-off is 8 p.m.
