The Hazel Hawkins Hospital Foundation has received a $50,000 grant from the Hospice Giving Foundation to fund its palliative care program for end-of-life services, according to an announcement from the foundation.
The foundation made the announcement in its latest email newsletter. According to the statement:
Hazel Hawkins Hospital Foundation is proud to announce that it has received a $50,000 grant from Hospice Giving Foundation to fund the Hazel Hawkins Hospital’s Palliative Care Program providing end-of-life care and services to patients from throughout San Benito County.
Since its inception in 1997 Hospice Giving Foundation has granted over $22 million dollars to programs in San Benito and Monterey Counties.  The Hospice Giving Foundation is dedicated to strengthening and improving palliative, hospice and other end-of-life services.
Sunny Underwood, Palliative Care Coordinator for Hazel Hawkins Hospital noted, “This generous funding support from Hospice Giving Foundation is a big boost to our Palliative Care Program. It has enabled us to continue providing patients and their families with the care and comfort they need during the end-of-life process. The Hospice Giving Foundation has provided support totaling over $700,000 during the past 12 years.”
Gifts to the Hazel Hawkins Hospital Foundation support patient care, building and equipment needs and healthcare education. As a tax-exempt organization, the Foundation receives all charitable gifts and grants in support of the Hospital.
