Regarding the DA shutting his office for a week, being that John Sarsfield is also an attorney, why doesn’t he help out and handle some of the cases himself? DAs often handle cases in hard-pressed counties, guess he forgot how!

I would like to add that I agree with Sheriff Hill’s fears that “in custody” felony crime suspects would risk being released. I worked in an out of county DA’s office for over 10 years and the time frame is “set in stone.” There are no exceptions if an information isn’t filed with the court in time.
