Our first Red Phone caller, a Hollister man, asked the Crimson Crusader why there are so many burned-out street lights throughout the city.
Well, dearest caller, our hero isn’t sure why so many street lights in this fine city are not working. However, the Crimson Crusader does know how to fix the problem. The easiest way to request service for a street light is to go to www.pge.com and click on the “Field Work and Projects” link at the top of the page. There you can fill out a simple street light trouble report and submit it online. Pacific Gas and Electric maintains about 670,000 street lights, so make sure you know what street the light is on and the nearest cross street.
The Crimson Crusader strongly encourages local residents to report street light problems. Well-lit streets make Hollister a safer place.
Thanks to the HPD
Our next Red Phone caller, a local woman, called the Crimson Crusader to report that the Hollister Police Department did an excellent job investigating and helping her after a recent burglary. Our caller said her car was stolen and her home was broken into twice. She reported the police deserved high praise for their work and should be commended. Well, dearest caller, our hero will certainly pass along the message.
No Love for the Rally
Our next Red Phone caller, a Hollister man, asked the Crimson Crusader when the rally would be over. Our caller, clearly not a fan of the annual motorcycle rally, said he couldn’t get any work done with the bikes roaring up and down the street all day. The rally is scheduled to end Sunday, dearest caller, but you can expect a few stragglers. Your best bet might be taking a break from work or buying some earplugs.
