I am writing this letter on my opinion about politics. For a
couple of months I’ve learned about the ones running to be the next
president, and it’s a funny that all think that they are the best
ones for the job. I have to admit that we have a poor system for a
country that tries to tell the entire world what democracy is
about.
The next president’s going to have a pretty tough job, and what about those promises?

I am writing this letter on my opinion about politics. For a couple of months I’ve learned about the ones running to be the next president, and it’s a funny that all think that they are the best ones for the job. I have to admit that we have a poor system for a country that tries to tell the entire world what democracy is about. In my opinion, it would be so simple to go by the majority vote. These caucus, due caucus and super vote things make things so hard, it leaves us with the feeling that our vote doesn’t count. Al Gore lost with the majority of the vote. Who knows? We might have been in better shape with him as president. Hope we learn with the mistakes. Now, whatever happens, we must accept whoever is nominated. What I see, the next president’s job will not be easy in the condition we are in now. With a multi-trillion-dollar deficit, a bad economy, the war, the falling dollar, etc., etc., I can’t figure how he is going to keep his promise. In my opinion, for the ones that voted, with a lot of free entitlements, they could be in for a big surprise. John F. Kennedy started campaigning with the words “Don’t ask what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country.” This orange has been so squeezed that there is no more juice. The ones that are running for president now, we hear nothing but promises. The deficit is scary and that is one thing they don’t seem to worry about. God have mercy! In the many, many dozens of letters I have written, I have been complimented many times, especially from seniors. Earlier, I had pleasure of reading in the Free Lance a short article written by Anita Kene complimenting me on my my writing. I have no idea who she is. Hope to meet you one day. Thanks a million! It is ones like you who encourage me. Writing, to me, is entertainment. For as long you out there make me feel welcome and I’m accepted by the Free Lance, we can continue to have fun in sharing our thoughts. As long as I can still swim, there will always be something I can still share and write about. This is my opinion.
