Giving Space to ‘Gutter-Mouthed Man’ Inappropriate
Giving Space to ‘Gutter-Mouthed Man’ Inappropriate
Editor,
I note the front page headlines : “Venezuelan Leader Chavez Blasts Bush.” This along with a smiling photo of Mr. Chavez.
The sort of garbage talk and personal vilification that Chavez was quoted as using is inappropriate in a United Nations Meeting. It has no place there. It does, however, reveal this man’s wicked and vile personality.
Where was the chairperson to hammer this gutter-mouthed man silent with his gavel? Why didn’t he turn the speaker’s microphone off?
Where was our representative’s interruption of outrage? And now, what will the American people do? Will they look the other way in the name of freedom of speech?
Lastly, why was the placement of this offense act given front-page exposure? It is like the recent extra large portrait of a confessed murderer. Better would have been a photo of the innocent girl victim.

Proposed Senior Subdivision Just Doesn’t Fly Right
Editor,
The airport has been referred to as the hidden jewel in the city’s assets. That being said, how long do you think it will take the residents of the proposed senior subdivision to attempt to close the airport because of noise? What if they succeed?
Will the legacy of city leaders past and present who allowed this kind of growth be the $120 million sewer farm and what it processes? I think that would be fitting, however, I might be wrong.
