City and county officials gathered to break ground on a Hwy. 25 safety improvement project that was designed in 2005, but put on hold for the last four years to wait for state funding.
Construction of the $6.9 million project will begin in June, and the Council of Governments signed a contract with Graniterock Company’s Pavex Construction Division April. 19.
The project will take 11 months to complete and will include the installation of a concrete barrier from Hudner Lane to the Santa clara County line, widening of the lanes and combining access roads for local farms.
