Maverick BBQ posted a message on its Facebook page that it will close its doors for good on Saturday.
The owners of Maverick BBQ, on Fifth Street, posted a notice that they will operate for the last time on Saturday, with a Sunday parking lot sale to sell off all of the inventory from the restaurant.
The restaurant had been listed in real estate listings. The parking lot sale will include plates, pots, tables, chairs, refrigerators, the smoker and more. If there is food left on Sunday, they will also be cooking it and selling it. Fans of Maverick’s barbecue sauce can preorder barbecue sauce by Wednesday if they want jars to take home.
The restaurant opened in 2001 and has been under current ownership for five years. Maverick BBQ Inc. is owned by Al and Cheryl Coughlin, and Eben and Tara Lips. The Lips managed the restaurant.
The owners posted their reason for closing the restaurant as “we are moving our family out of state to pursue other opportunities.”
