McKinnon Lumber in downtown Hollister on Friday is celebrating the official date of the 100th anniversary for the store.
In 1910, Archibald D. McKinnon bought the lot, which had covered the entire block between Seventh and South streets before that time, and split it in half. John Barrett, whose family has had involvement with owning McKinnon Lumber since 1972, will celebrate the official anniversary of Sept. 10.
Customers can come to the store during its 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. hours and they will be treated to cake – “as long as it lasts,” Barrett said.
