The telephone survey this week for the casino is the most
slanted and misleading survey I have every heard. I was asked
questions that were impossible to answer as they were absurdities.
Many questions were prefaced by the idea that

if the casino did such-and-such, what would I vote?

This is like saying,

If the casino paid for every good thing in the community would I
give a high vote?

The vote would imply that I would approve of the casino.
Dear Editor,

The telephone survey this week for the casino is the most slanted and misleading survey I have every heard. I was asked questions that were impossible to answer as they were absurdities. Many questions were prefaced by the idea that “if the casino did such-and-such, what would I vote?” This is like saying, “If the casino paid for every good thing in the community would I give a high vote?” The vote would imply that I would approve of the casino.

The truth is that the casino is not going to eliminate problems. No community like Hollister has benefited by a casino. I lived in one that was harmed badly by a casino. An answer to an “if” question would be erroneous no matter how it was answered.

The survey is slanted so the results will be misleading! The promises by the casino are just that, “promises!”

The casino near Hollister is a bad idea!
