Paradiso Spa & Salon recently opened and held a grand opening at the 750 San Benito St. location.
The spa and salon, owned by local resident Julie Laib, is a full-day spa with six treatment rooms. It features rooms that cater to skin, body, hair and wellness treatments, the owner said.

Laib had been an esthetician for about four years and was working out of her home during that time. She and her husband, a contractor, were well-accustomed to spa and salon offerings, as they often travel the world and have visited a wide variety of such businesses. She said her home, in the meantime, wasn’t an ideal spot where she could work “comfortably and professionally.”
“We had all that in our vision,” she said, regarding the couple’s experiences around the world.
Though she couldn’t replicate a “Pebble Beach” spa and salon, she wanted to open a place so locals would not have to drive out of town for similar offerings that other full-day spas provide.
And Paradiso certainly fits the bill.
The spa and salon offers a wide-ranging experience for customers, including the wet room, which is a rare amenity. The wet treatments include those involving mud, sugar and scrubs.
“Usually, you have to get in a shower,” Laib said.
At Paradiso, though, the customers are toweled off, and warm water is run all over them.
“We have everything incorporated into wellness,” she said.
Among the other offerings are an infrared sauna and a “beautiful relaxation room.”
When visitors arrive for the spa, they won’t have to wait in a lobby. They get escorted down the hall – walking by the finely planned layout of treatment rooms and to a tranquil vibe created by the business – and arrive in the room where they can close the curtains, unwind and even enjoy food and beverages as a therapist arrives. The spa also features such soothing amenities as a fireplace to help customers relax.
“I didn’t want to just focus on treatment,” she said. Instead, she wanted to offer a place where people could feel a “sense of stepping out of your life.”
So far, Laib is excited about the momentum for the business. At the grand opening held earlier this month, there were more than 400 people who browsed the offerings and enjoyed food and wine provided by Paradiso.
“I’m just very excited about the response and I’m looking forward to meeting all of our future guests,” Laib said.
