Dear Editor:
It’s hard to figure why the Free Lance prints Ignacio Velazquez’s logic-free opinions under the guise “Guest Columns” since his column appears regularly. After reading his column, you can wade through Ignacio’s intellectual thinking without getting your ankles wet.
Anyway, here we have the pot calling the kettle black. Ignacio says he has seen a lot of outrageous behavior from the Board of Supervisors and cries out for the community not to let the Supervisors steal our votes. However, Ignacio’s column doesn’t mention the outrageous behavior of he and De La Cruz violating election laws. So now, who is stealing our votes?
What’s this say about such a stellar business figure as Ignacio defending De La Cruz’s election tampering in order to become a county Supervisor? This really is not what Ignacio should be teaching our children and grandchildren on how to become an elected official.
The investigation of De La Cruz and others violating election laws is part of the process. This is not a Banana Republic as Ignacio wrote. We have election laws and regardless of where the hammer falls, I support any investigation that would reveal corruption during this past election process. Should the election results stand, we can say, so long to strawberry fields forever.
So wake up Ignacio, as of now De La Cruz in. Along with his corruption, De La Cruz brings you as aide and confidant to start the process of paving over our pristine county.
