Tres Pinos receives check from Cattlemen’s Association
The Cattlemen’s Association presented a check for $400 from the
annual Beef Raffle Fundraiser held May 25, at the Tres Pinos
Elementary School. All beef certificates will be purchased locally
and money raised from the sale of the raffle tickets goes toward
art and other enrichment programs, as well as educational materials
for the rural school.
Members presented the check at a school assembly April 8.

CTA honors SBHS teacher
The California Teachers Association and the Central Coast Counties Service Center Council awarded Clete Bradford the 2011 “We Honor Ours” Award. The W.H.O. award is given to members for their hard work and dedication to local chapters and the CTA. Bradford is the first San Benito High School Teachers Association member to receive state-level recognition since the inception of the awards in 1974.
He served as the chapter president for eight years and served on the negotiations team for two years. He served on the CTA state council and curriculum and instruction committee for 10 years, including six years as chairperson. The committee makes recommendations to CTA on educational issues for grades K-12. He has also worked with local politicians in the tri-county area on educational issues.
Others who have been recognized include Jill Clark Kunich (1995), Kathleen Spencer (1989), Juan Robledo (1988), Roland Smith (1985), Harold (Jim Allen (1985) and John Light (1974.)
